Pear Tree School | Mondays-(Gr 4 to Gr 8 ) | Robotics | 2026 Jan 23-Mar 13

$210.00

Classes will run on Mondays, From Jan 19th, 2026, to March 9th, 2026.  Students can bring their own windows laptops if available (Or we will provide tablets). All other materials will be provided.

Explore Robotics(Gr4 to Gr8)

Students walk away with a solid introduction to how robots and simple electronic systems work. They learn the basics of building moving robots, wiring beginner friendly circuits on a breadboard, and using the Micro:bit with sensors, LEDs, buzzers, and motors. They also gain experience testing ideas, fixing small problems, and improving their designs.
As they explore robotics, electronics, coding, and design, students get early exposure to the kinds of areas that later appear as high-school electives such as robotics, engineering and computer science. This early hands-on experience helps them understand what they enjoy, build confidence in their interests, and gives them a helpful starting point when thinking about future pathways — whether in high school or college.

Discover Robotics

From curious builder to confident problem solver—your child’s next step in robotics.

This hands-on program goes beyond play and introduces students to real-world robotics in a structured, engaging way. Whether your child is just getting started or coming from our Explore Robotics program, they’ll now learn to think, build, and program like a true robotics designer.

In this course, students:

  • Work with advanced educational robot kits, sensors, and motors
  • Use microcontrollers like Micro:bit to bring robots to life with code
  • Explore circuits and electronics using safe, snap-on components
  • Develop key skills like logic, precision, testing, and creative problem-solving

Every class is built on real applications.

Our curriculum aligns with the BC ADST standards and goes well beyond, with modules in:

  • Navigation and movement
  • Sensors and automation
  • Circuitry and mechatronics
  • Energy and power systems
  • Robotics ethics and real-world challenges

Where does it all lead?
To future engineers, tech entrepreneurs, AI robotics designers—or any career where building, thinking, and solving with technology makes an impact.

No prior robotics experience is required—just a desire to explore, build, and create.
